Nan Fung Property Management Releases Sustainability Report 2023/24

Nan Fung Property Management (“NFPM”) of Nan Fung Group unveils its Sustainability Report 2023/24, alongside the establishment of Sustainability Framework 2030 (“SF2030”) targets encompassing four fundamental themes – People, Environment, Governance and Partnership. As the first in the industry to publish its own sustainability report according to the Global Reporting Initiative Sustainability Reporting Standards 2021 (“GRI Standards”) in 2023, NFPM continues to drive sustainable value and create a positive impact, positioning the Company as a pioneer of sustainability initiatives in the industry.
Governance:
NFPM has not only established the first double materiality matrix but has also announced the targets and metrics of "SF2030" and published its initial set of climate-related disclosures following the Recommendations of Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).
People:
A comprehensive training programme has been launched to bolster Vision, Purpose, and Values ("VPV") for all staff, achieving a training exposure rate of at least 80% for each operational function. NFPM participated in the "Employment Friendly Charter", and achieved a Social Return on Investment (SROI) ratio of 1:3.3x for the community programme, "Let's Move for Zero Hunger".
Environment:
NFPM has effectively generated over 710,000 kWh of renewable energy in the reporting year and conducted energy audits for 61 managed properties as of March 2024. By leveraging innovative technologies such as "PlantPRO" with AI-powered solutions and Quantum Optimisation Technology, NFPM actively enhances energy efficiency and reduces consumption. NFPM has also established a dedicated task force to develop the Waste Zero initiative, implementing comprehensive waste management measures. Moreover, over 50% of the managed properties have been certified as green buildings by BEAM Plus.
Partnership:
NFPM has introduced the Sustainability Dashboard, empowering tenants to effectively track and assess their sustainability performance. Additionally, NFPM has played a pivotal role in facilitating the launch of the Net Positive Lease within the Group. The Company has expanded the scope of Green specifications from 11 to 14 procurement items, aligning with the recommendations from the Environmental Protection Department. Furthermore, eligible suppliers have been furnished with the 1st sustainability assessment form to enhance their sustainability practices.
