Healthy Buildings, Environment for Wellness
For commercial buildings, achieving Final Platinum rating under BEAM Plus New Buildings, One Taikoo Place helps creating a wind corridor of the city by setting back the building from the streets, resulting in better natural ventilation and surroundings. As for other BEAM Plus Platinum-rated commercial buildings such as 8 Bay East / NEO and 18 King Wah Road, efforts have been made in reducing indoor air pollutants for better indoor air quality. Thus, a healthier indoor environment can be maintained.
Regarding public housing designs, residents’ health and well-being are also taken care of. On Tai Estate is one of the several public housing estates that achieved Final Platinum rating under BEAM Plus New Buildings. In terms of the planning and design of the first and second phases of public housing in the Anderson Road Sites A and B, natural ventilation in public areas is optimised with the aid of Air Ventilation Assessment. In the building design of Long Shin Estate, Yuen Long, adequate natural lighting has been provided in the common areas to create a comfortable living environment for residents.
Both commercial buildings – 8 Bay East / NEO, and 18 King Wah Road, achieved Final Platinum rating under BEAM Plus New Buildings.
At On Tai Estate, the old Barren Quarry is transformed to a sustainable public housing estate certified with a Final Platinum rating under BEAM Plus New Buildings.
For Long Shin Estate at Yuen Long, simulation is conducted at the design stage to ensure that adequate ventilation and natural light have been provided in common areas.
